Location: North coast of Örfirisey. The outdoor artwork Ægir was unveiled on 16 August 1998, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Ægir Sail Makers. The company commissioned the work, created from steel and sails, in memory of Óli Barðdal, its owner, who died in 1983. The sculptor Þórir Barðdal is his youngest son. The work is 25 m2 and stands on a three meters high pedestal. It is meant as a sort of protective symbol for passing seafarers, hence the name Ægir, a giant and king of the ocean.
