Location: Laugardalur. This sculpture is in remembrance of Gísli Halldórsson architect, who was the honorary president of The National Olympic and Sports Association of Iceland for many years. As an architect, he designed many community centres and sports facilities, including the Laugardalur Stadium and Laugardalur Sports Hall. When this sculpture was created, Gísli visited the artist in her studio and modelled for her. It was first created in plaster of Paris but later cast in bronze in England. This is a realistic likeness of an influential man who shaped the area surrounding the sculpture.
