Helgi Gíslason
- Year : 1982
- Height : 105 cm
- Width : 40 cm
- Category : Skúlptúr
- Sub-category : Málmskúlptúr
Location: Reykjavík Botanical Garden. Helgi’s work often revolves around human existence, beyond the body. For example, a piece like this one, where the body is only partly shown, or otherwise distorted to indicate the reality behind the surface and the challenges of our existence. At the same time, the work reflects the artist’s struggle with the material. Helgi is very experienced at casting in bronze and familiar with that old tradition of making sculptures. Hence, a work like this might even be interpreted as a dialogue with art history.
