Piltur og stúlka (Kata og Stebbi)
Þorbjörg Pálsdóttir
- Year : 1968
- Height : cm
- Width : cm
- Category : Skúlptúr
- Sub-category : Brons
Location: Hljómskálagarður Boy and Girl is one of Þorbjörg’s first sculptures, inspired by teenagers in the artist’s family who were called Kata and Stebbi. He leans against a light post, a lanky teenager looking nonchalant, but Kata sits with her hands in her lap and appears to be deep in thought. Þorbjörg’s statues never stand on pedestals, instead they have a close and unpretentious relationship with the environment. Some lean against a wall, sit, stand or lie on the floor or the ground. This sculpture is part of a few outdoor artworks in String of Pearls, the women’s sculpture park.
