Edda Jónsdóttir (b. 1942) was born in Reykjavík were she studied at the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts, The Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and later at Rijksakademie van Beelende Kunsten in Amsterdam. She worked as an artist from 1975-1995, then founded i8 Gallery of which she was the director until 2007 when she returned to making art. The drawings were first exhibited at Hverfisgallerí alongside the publishing of a book work.
