This work is part of a series that icludes 32 photographs. Between 2001 and 2006, artists Bryndís Snæbjörnsdóttir and Mark Wilson undertook a survey of taxidermic polar bears in the UK. They aimed to find every taxidermic polar bear in the country, research the histories of each of them and identify more information where possible, such as the date, place and individuals associated with its death or capture. They got permission to photograph these bears, which were located in different places, such as museum, storage rooms, private homes, even garbage dumps. The artists want to examine what kind of ideas people in the city have of the nature and to do so they study their relations to animals.
