The Kiss depicts intimacy between two individuals. The work is a good example of Ásmundur's new approach, which developed during this time, when he began to break up the masses and the solid forms of his works and air started to play a greater role. In the work, Ásmundur said he was getting to the "core of the matter," which is the people on one hand and the air in between them on the other. "The air also speaks its own language no less than the lines in the figures."
